Nicholas Leftwich, state drug court organizer for the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, will go over “Treatment Courts and Probation,” a lecture which is totally free and open up to the general public. Leftwich will explore the subtleties of how treatment courts in West Virginia run in addition to how probation officers operate in the field.
Leftwich manages programmatic and financial stewardship of all treatment courts in West Virginia. The state has 4 treatment courts – Adult Drug Court, Juvenile Drug Court, Family Treatment Court, and Veterans Treatment Court, Leftwich deals with all probation officers in the state to offer any and all technical help and works as a resource for the field officers.
