Crime, Justice and the Media examines and examines the relationship between the media and criminal offense, bad guys and the criminal justice system. It focuses on a number of specific locations of crime and criminal justice in terms of media representation – these areas include ethical panics over particular crimes and wrongdoers (consisting of youth criminal activity, cybercrime and paedophilia), the media representation of victims of crime and criminals and the method the media represent criminal justice companies. The book uses a clear, accessible and extensive analysis of theoretical thinking on the relationship in between the media, criminal activity and criminal justice and a detailed examination of how crime, criminals and others included in the criminal justice procedure are portrayed by the media.
