Murder at TDCJ Michael Unit/ 18 Month Sentence For Jail Contraband

A Texas Department of Criminal Justice Inmate is being implicated of killing a fellow prisoner at the TDCJ Michael Unit in Tennessee Colony near Palestine, Texas. 34 Year old Davarre Lavalais, who was serving an 8 year sentence was set up for release in July. He will now deal with 5 to 99 years for the murder 44 years of age Wes Alan Bracht, who was serving a 5 year sentence for robbery out of Nueces County. Lavalais will likely deal with an Anderson County Grand Jury. The TBCJ Office of Inspector General is examining.

A 31 years of age previous guard at the Escambia County Detention Center in Alabama was sentenced to 18 months in Federal Prison for smuggling in K2, cellular phones, and currency to prisoners. Lakerda Shanta Snowden pled guilty to accepting over $5,000 in bride-to-bes and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kristi DuBose after an examination by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Escambia Sheriff’s Office.
